There is an ongoing dialogue on Belonging that is building up if you are new to this blog. It should give you ideas if you have problems on related material and approaching texts, both prescribed and related.

I’m in desperate need of some decent help
im trying to relate the simple gift and way home together through belonging and having no hope what so ever please help
Both texts look at young adults who have for a range of reasons left their family/home to make another way for themselves. Look for the ways each character finds a place for themselves and some connection with someone or something that gives them comfort. You could also consider why they leave home: home is not homely or supportive as we usually assume it is.
One text is verse so you are looking at poetic techniques and the other is a picture book that makes use of strong visuals accompnied by text. Look at how the visuals support the text.
