Q: I have had a look at your website which is helpful.
What do you mean by metalanguage?

A: Metalanguage is the language we use to talk about the study of English so that when we talk about poetry, we use terms like verses, metaphors and similes, iambic pentameter etc to examine what a poet does with language to communicate his or her meaning. Metalanguage comes from the rise of critical theory thinking I think and refers to those terms that were once studied as ’style’ and ‘form’.
